Lightning protection system (LPS) periodic inspection is a legal requirement per OTSZ 54/2014 BM regulation §279–281. This is NOT the same as electrical safety inspection (VBF), which falls under 40/2017 NGM regulation.
Who can perform LPS inspection? A person with qualifications per 9/2015 BM regulation §10 (3)–(4).
Inspection frequency (OTSZ minimum): - Standard LPS Class I–II: at least every 3 years - Other LPS: at least every 6 years - Extraordinary inspection: after modifications, suspected lightning strike, visible damage/corrosion, or changes affecting effectiveness.
